Yoga Retreat in France with Catherine Weston - July 2021

We have rescheduled our 2020 retreats to 2021 for reasons we are all very familiar with. Should we still be required to social distance at that point, this venue is perfectly appointed to enable us to be together, but also distanced. Every room can have their own bathroom; you will be allocated your own yoga mat and props for the week, and we will make use of the property's amazing outdoor yoga and eating spaces to ensure a wonderful relaxing time.

Catherine Weston and East of Eden are heading to luxurious La Deveze in the South of France for this retreat, about 30 miles from Nimes. La Deveze is set within 97 acres of beautiful meadow and woodland above the market town of Quissac in the Occitanie region. This collection of ancient stone buildings has been transformed into luxurious accommodation ideally suited to hosting a yoga retreat.

The retreat will comprise a series of yoga classes, workshops and meditation.

With luxury accommodation, a heated swimming pool and beautiful French countryside to explore on foot, bike or by car, this promises to be the perfect way to relax and escape hectic London life. There is an indoor shala with heated floor, an outoor yoga deck and numerous woodland clearings with stunning views for outdoor classes and meditations.

Food is such an important part of a retreat, and we are really happy with what is on offer at La Deveze. Many of the ingredients used in their cooking are from their own vegetable and herb gardens and they also be produce their own olive oil and wine.

Breakfast will consist of fruit, breads, yogurt, homemade preserves,(honey from our own hives), tea, coffee, juice and some mornings fresh eggs from our hens.

  • Lunch will be two courses.
  • Dinner will be three courses, all vegetarian, with the option to purchase wine.
  • Fruit, tea, coffee and mineral water are available throughout the day.

The mornings will begin with an early meditation and include a dynamic class for all levels, breaking postures down to develop a better understanding of anatomical alignment and the way we move with out breath to create fluidity. In the evenings, we’ll get together for a restorative or slow flow practice to unwind and reset, leaving you feeling calm and balanced. There will be 2 workshops in the mix where you’ll learn skills and techniques to add into your daily practise and develop your own personal practise. Students can expect creative, well thought out sequencing, detailed alignment and upbeat music.

Catherine completed her advanced level teacher training with the renowned Jason Crandell who she has been fortunate enough to assist in his teacher trainings. Additionally she has studied with many international teachers including Stephanie Snyder, Kristin Campbell, Matthew Sanford with whom she has studied yoga for trauma and stress. She trained with Katy Appleton to teach pre and post natal yoga and is currently on a year long training program with Alexandria Crow.

Accommodation

Accommodation is to a very high standard, across 2 barns and a cottage, with lots of communal spaces to sit and read or chat to the other guests. Dinners will be outside under twinkling lights and views over the mountains. We have use of 2 shalas - one inside and one on a deck in the trees. All rooms have their own bathroom with some en-suite and there is a choice of triple room sharing with 2 others, twin room sharing with 1 other or private doubles.

£895 for a triple room (sharing with 2 other people)
£950 for twin room sharing
£1500 for kingsize double room single occupancy (£1700 for double occupancy.

This includes:

  • Accommodation for 7 nights.
  • All yoga and meditation
  • Brunch, lunch snack and dinner each day.

Not included:

  • Travel to the villa - although we are happy to coordinate transport from the airport.
  • Massages.

Proposed Schedule

14th July 2021 - arrivals from 4pm with a welcome practice 6.30 followed by a delicious dinner at 8pm. Daily schedule:

  • Morning meditation

    7:00am

  • Fruit and Tea

    7:30am

  • Vinyasa practice for all levels

    8:30am to 10:30am

  • Brunch and free time to hang out at the beach and pool or have a treatment. Other activities locally TBC.

    10:30am to 14:00pm

  • Light afternoon snack available for those at the retreat villa
