WHAT IS REFORMER PILATES?

Reformer Pilates uses a reformer machine to do a range of exercises that work the whole body, starting with the core. All Pilates classes should start with alignment and breathing, as well as core engagement. Joseph Pilates created Pilates, originally called Contrology, based on a set of principles that ensured efficiency, precision, and full-body integration. Over time, his exercises have been adapted to align with current exercise science, rehabilitation practices, and biomechanics research, making Pilates safer and more effective for a wider range of people. Today, it is one of the most popular exercise modalities across the world. Reformer Pilates is a low-impact, full-body workout focusing on core strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, however it can be modified to work for people with a variety of postural issues and injuries, as well as progressed to be a fantastic resistance workout. It involves precise movements, matching each breath to each movement to enable the practitioner to concentrate on how the exercises feel in their body, to enhance physical and mental wellness and awareness.
